Domestic Biomass Boilers are eligible for the RHI. All biomass boilers must be fitted by MCS accredited installers.

 

Currently the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Tariff for Domestic Biomass Boilers is 6.44p for every kWh of heat energy consumed. This is guaranteed for 7 years of the 20 year lifespan of a Biomass Boiler.

 

To calculate your RHI payments, a Green Deal Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessment is required. This assessment will clarify how many kWh of heat your property requires to heat the space and the hot water. The government will then deem that you will heat your property in line this assessment result and pay you accordingly.
